Day Scheduled for Laid Off Workers

Moving Forward Day on March 31, 2009

Dover-Foxcroft:   The community is invited to attend the free Moving Forward Day on March 31, 2009 from 8:30am to 6pm at the Penquis Higher Education Building, 50 Mayo Street, Dover-Foxcroft. Moving Forward Day, organized by The Piscataquis County Transition Team and the Penquis Resource Exchange, is open to the public and focused on providing valuable resources to those that are laid off, unemployed or underemployed and their families.

The event will offer a wide range of free workshops such as health insurance option, access to local health care, budgeting, foreclosure prevention, gardening 101, how to start a business and more.   Seating for the workshops is limited, preregistration is encouraged.  

In addition to workshops, Moving Forward Day will feature a resource fair beginning at 11am filled with local service providers, community organizations and businesses.  

Other highlights of the day include an opportunity to meet one-on-one with a foreclosure prevention counselor, file your unemployment online, job search online and more.
